Hoya longicalyx
HK$268.00
Available to order
The name gives away the secret: longicalyx — “long calyx.” It is a detail that means little to the casual observer but everything to a Hoya enthusiast who appreciates the botanical precision behind how plants are named. Where most Hoyas have modest calyx lobes holding those iconic star flowers in place, Hoya longicalyx extends them into something noticeably different — an extra flourish of structure that makes the blooms, when they arrive, distinctively worth the wait.
Beyond the flowers, it offers the waxy, semi-succulent foliage and reliable, low-maintenance disposition that characterise the genus at its best. For collectors who love to know exactly what makes each species singular, the longicalyx provides a satisfying, specific answer. The patience required to reach first bloom is repaid in full.
