Hoya Amicabilis
HK$328.00
Available to order
The name says something meaningful: amicabilis — Latin for “friendly,” pleasant to be around. Hoya amicabilis earns that description through an undemanding nature and consistent growth that many of its more dramatic genus-mates cannot quite match. While certain Hoyas demand specialist conditions or years of patience before their first bloom, amicabilis is straightforward in the best possible sense: give it reasonable care, resist overwatering, and it rewards you reliably with healthy new growth and, in time, the waxy star-shaped flower clusters that make the genus so beloved.
The characteristic semi-succulent leaves look handsome year-round, flowers or none, and the trailing stems develop a pleasing fullness over a season or two. A solid, genuinely pleasant addition to any collection — true to its name in every sense.

Care Guide
- Light: Bright, indirect light. Adapts to moderate light but rewards brighter conditions with more growth and blooms.
- Watering: Let soil dry out between waterings. Consistent dryness between sessions is far better than consistent moisture.
- Humidity: 50–70% comfortable. Reasonably adaptable to average indoor conditions.
- Temperature: 18–28°C. Avoid cold draughts and temperatures below 12°C.
- Soil: Well-draining Hoya mix — standard potting soil with generous perlite or orchid bark.
- Flowering: Produces clusters of star-shaped blooms. Keep spent flower spurs — new blooms return to the same point each season.
