How to care for monstera

When caring for monstera, please pay attention to the following:

  1. Sunlight:
    Suitable for bright to medium indirect lighting. Not suitable for strong direct sunlight, but can be adapted to a period of sun exposure.
  2. Watering: Watering every 1-2 weeks to allow the soil to dry between waterings. More frequent watering is required in brighter light and less water in darker light. Based on the dryness of the soil surface, delay watering in a timely manner to avoid root rot caused by overwatering.
  3. Humidity: Normal indoor humidity is sufficient for them, but they prefer a humid environment if possible. Consider using a fine mist spray or humidifier to increase indoor humidity.
  4. Temperature: Monstera is sensitive to cold and is suitable for growing at temperatures ranging from about 15°C to 30°C. When it is below 15°C in winter, it should be moved indoors to avoid the cold.
  5. Soil:
    Use a well-drained potting soil mixture. Ingredients such as vermiculite or lava rocks can be added to increase the aeration of the soil, adjusted as needed.
  6. Fertilization: Fertilizer can be added during the growing season, and suitable basic fertilizer and liquid fertilizer can be selected, such as Haokangduo, Aolu manure, Huabao or Shida, etc.
  7. Pet friendly: Monstera can be irritating to pets, and it is recommended to avoid pets nibbling plants.
  8. Other precautions: Ventilation is very important for Monstera, it is recommended to keep the indoor environment ventilated, open more windows, or move outdoors to a cool place in the summer.
