Growing with plants, in Causeway Bay
A plant shop on Lockhart Road, a pop-up among bookshelves, and a new space on Yiu Wa Street. Our photographs and posts trace the plants, places and patient work behind Plantjai.

A plant shop already in Causeway Bay
By November 2022, our Instagram posts showed Plantjai at 2/F, 470 Lockhart Road. Anthuriums were putting out new leaves on the shelves. Photographing those changes became a way to share the seasons and everyday life with plants.

Getting to know plants, leaf by leaf
A June 2023 Facebook post records a variegated Hoya and the Lockhart Road shop address. Hoyas, anthuriums and other foliage plants were part of the shop’s everyday rhythm.

Learning a plant’s habits takes time
Our Causeway Bay account shared the story of discovering a camouflage Aglaonema and learning how it responds to care. The approach was patient: observe the plant, then adjust. That habit of paying attention continues in our care notes.

Plants among the bookshelves
Our on-site archive photographs record a temporary pop-up at Taikoo Eslite in March 2024. Pots, shelves and a navy tablecloth brought the plants into a different setting, giving people another place to stop and look.

A new home, still in Causeway Bay
On 24 November 2024, we announced the move to 4/F, Nam Hing Fong, 39 Yiu Wa Street. The new space brought a podium and more sunlight for the plants, while the contact number and opening hours stayed the same. Shop life and nursery work continued here.

From pollination to a new leaf
A December post on red crystallinum anthuriums follows pollination, sowing, repotting and the changing colour of a new leaf. Seedlings vary, and parent plants need time to mature. Breeding means watching those differences unfold over successive leaves.

The growing continues
Plants still fill the shop and our posts: new leaves, care experiences and the work of looking after a collection. From Lockhart Road to the Eslite pop-up and the Yiu Wa Street shop, Plantjai’s story has grown through observation, experiments and conversations.
