Network prayer plant care
Calathea musaica is a synonym of the Kew-accepted Goeppertia kegeljanii, native to southeastern Brazil. Nursery identity should still be checked against the current plant.
Use bright indirect light or partial shade, avoiding strong direct sun and cold draughts. Keep the mix evenly moist during active growth without waterlogging; adjust watering as growth slows in winter. Brown leaf edges can have several causes, including dry air or water quality, so use the pot and conditions rather than a fixed watering calendar.
NC State Extension lists this species as non-toxic to pets and humans while noting that sap can irritate skin. Discourage chewing; this is not an edible-plant claim.
Species maturity dimensions do not describe the measured size of the current nursery plant. Ask Plantjai for its actual pot-to-top height.
