Plant and care
Kew accepts Maranta leuconeura as the species. NC State Extension lists “Lemon” or Lemon Lime among its cultivated forms and recommends bright indirect light indoors, protection from direct sun and cold draughts, and evenly moist medium during active growth. Adjust watering in winter as growth slows, and use a draining pot instead of a fixed calendar or unverified mix ratio.
Pets and children: We did not find a reliable source that establishes this exact cultivated form as completely safe for every cat, dog or child. ASPCA notes that eating plant material can cause stomach upset even when a plant is not classified as toxic. Discourage chewing; seek veterinary or medical advice if symptoms occur.
Current stock: Confirm the actual pot-to-top height with Plantjai rather than treating a species maturity figure as the size of the plant for sale.
