Hoya australis albomarginata
HK$128.00
Available to order
Hoya australis albomarginata — Australia’s contribution to the Hoya world, and it arrives with characteristic elegance: clean, oval leaves with a crisp white margin that traces every leaf edge like a fine brushstroke. Subtle, refined, and deeply satisfying to grow.
While many variegated Hoyas are high-drama and high-maintenance, albomarginata is refreshingly easygoing. The white margin is stable — you won’t see it reverting to solid green. Like all H. australis varieties, it blooms reliably: large umbels of white star flowers with a rich, sweet fragrance that intensifies after dark. Trails beautifully in a hanging basket or climbs a trellis with equal grace.

Care Guide
- Light: Bright indirect light maintains the sharp white margins. Gentle morning sun is welcome — harsh afternoon sun will scorch the white sections.
- Watering: Let the potting mix dry out mostly before watering. H. australis is drought-tolerant and roots rot easily in consistently wet soil.
- Humidity: 50–70%. Happy at average indoor humidity — better ventilation is more important than high humidity for this species.
- Temperature: 15–30°C (60–86°F). Tolerates mild variation better than most Hoyas.
- Soil: Free-draining mix — orchid bark, perlite, and potting soil. Keep it airy.
- Flowering: Blooms reliably on established plants. Old peduncles produce new flowers — leave them in place.
