Silver Dollar Plant
Kew accepts Xerosicyos danguyi, native to Madagascar. A taxonomy record does not independently verify the identity of the current nursery stock. NParks describes a climbing foliage plant for full sun to partial shade with low water needs. Start it in a bright, ventilated spot and adapt it to local light.
Use a pot with drainage and a free-draining mix. Check the actual medium, light and season before watering instead of following an unverified fixed calendar or soil formula. Ask Plantjai for the current plant’s pot-to-top height and stem length.
Safety: We did not find a reliable species-level source for the former broad toxicity claim about the plant and its stems and roots. That does not establish that the plant is edible or safe for pets. Discourage children and animals from chewing it and seek medical or veterinary help if symptoms occur.
