Hoya carnosa ssp. Marianna
Rare plant IDPJ-HOYAHOYA7045

Available to order
Hoya carnosa ssp. Marianna is what happens when the world’s most reliably loveable wax plant finds a slightly more refined expression of itself. The same thick, glossy, semi-succulent leaves and the same deeply fragrant star flower clusters that made the classic carnosa a household name — but in a compact, tidy habit that suits a well-placed shelf or a bright windowsill perfectly.
If you have been curious about Hoyas but are not sure where to start, Marianna is the answer. Forgiving with watering, comfortable in normal indoor conditions, and rewarding enough to bloom on a regular cycle once established. A plant that genuinely earns its spot.

Care Guide
- Light: Bright indirect light to some gentle direct morning sun. More light means more blooms.
- Watering: Let soil dry out almost completely between waterings. Hoyas hate wet feet — overwatering is the main risk.
- Humidity: Tolerates average indoor humidity well. 50–60% is comfortable.
- Temperature: 15–28°C. Avoid cold spots and draughts.
- Soil: Well-draining; standard potting mix with generous perlite.
- Flowering: Never remove old flower spurs — new blooms grow from the same point each year.
