Colocasia 'Dreamland' is a new cultivar that's become highly sought-after in horticultural circles in recent years, bred by crossing native Araceae species from tropical Southeast Asia. Its standout feature is a leaf surface woven with pink and creamy-white marbling, with colour distribution as fine and captivating as marbled wagyu beef — hence its nickname "Wagyu Colocasia." The leaf shape is classically heart-shaped, with prominently raised, clearly defined veins and a slightly waxy sheen to the leaf surface. The plant reaches a medium height of 40–60 cm, well suited as an indoor statement pot or a colourful accent in a shade garden. Growth is moderate, with spring and summer as the main growing seasons.

Light

• Ideal environment: mainly bright diffused light, 4–5 hours of gentle light daily
• Indoor placement: near an east- or north-facing window, 1–2 metres from the window in a well-lit spot
• Outdoor planting: a shaded balcony or garden, ideally with filtered light
• Notes: coloured patterning needs sufficient light to appear vivid, but direct strong sun will fade or scorch the leaves; too little light causes the patterning to fade or disappear entirely

Watering
