Philodendron tortum
Anything popular that can withstand the test of time, worth a place on the altar after years of sedimentation, goes timeless.
If I’m to pick 5 species to decorate my apartment for the next decade, I ain’t sure Monstera albo would be a concrete choice, but ???????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? is definitely what I’d like to live with. If you have ever watched SpaceX broadcast of any Falcon Heavy followed by satellite deployment after entering LEO, gently releasing the payload, then the satellite has its solar panels unfold, facing them towards the sun before they work day after night until reentrance. This is basically how tortum has its new leaf deployed and decayed.
On care, root rotting is possible and tortum can take longer recovery time from root rot comparing with other Philos, it has high success rate of propagating with stem cut, just that it take really long time, could be up to a year (don’t believe me? Wanna bet?) if your cut has no leaf. So don’t cut your tortum unless it’s smashed accidentally, like mine.
