How to care for Lady Palm indoors

Lady Palm is more tolerant of subdued interiors than many palms, although bright indirect light keeps the canopy at its most composed.

• Light: Bright indirect light is ideal, while lower-light positions are tolerated. Do not move an indoor-grown plant abruptly into intense direct sun.
• Water: Water thoroughly after the surface begins to dry, keeping the mix moist but aerated. Reduce applications in cooler months and never leave the base standing in water.
• Temperature & humidity: Average indoor humidity is generally sufficient. Protect the plant from prolonged temperatures below roughly 10°C and from strong cold drafts.
• Upkeep: This is a slow grower and needs little feeding. Use a modest balanced slow-release fertiliser during active growth and inspect the fibrous cane bases for scale.
