Round-leaved calathea care

Kew lists Calathea orbifolia as a synonym of Goeppertia orbifolia, whose native range is eastern Brazil. Confirm the identity and form of the current nursery plant separately from the taxonomic record.

NC State Extension and RHS advise bright indirect light or partial shade, protection from strong direct sun and cold draughts, and a moist but well-drained mix. Water to the actual pot and conditions rather than a fixed schedule; avoid waterlogging. Brown edges can reflect dry air, water quality, strong light or watering, so inspect the conditions before changing care.
