Care essentials

The currently accepted name is Caladium praetermissum ‘Hilo Beauty’. Colocasia is an older trade name, not the current genus.

Light

Give it partial shade or bright filtered light, away from prolonged direct sun.

Water and mix

Use an organic-rich, free-draining mix and keep it lightly moist. Let excess water drain; persistent waterlogging may rot the rhizome.

Safety

The sap may irritate skin. Wash hands after handling and avoid ingestion or contact with eyes.
